Barbers run high volume at a low ticket, so the fixed cents on every card payment matter more than the percentage, and a $6 marketplace minimum is a big slice of a $35 cut.

What matters for barbershops

The fixed fee per payment

On a $35 cut, 30¢ is almost another 1%. GlossGenius (flat 2.6%, no cents) and Vagaro (2.6% + 10¢ in person) look better here than they do for salons.

Walk-ins and in-person payments

Most barbers take payment at the chair, so the in-person rate matters more than the online one.

Consumer apps

Booksy is built around its consumer app; Boost charges 30% of a new client's first visit, capped at $100.
