Fees beyond the plan
Card processing
Payments are optional (you can run the calendar without them), but the only integrated processing shown is Fresha's own. Online 2.79% + 20¢; in-person 2.29% + 20¢ plus 10¢ extra for Tap to Pay; Klarna buy-now-pay-later 5.99% + 30¢.
Text reminders
Automated email reminders included. 100 texts/WhatsApp messages free per month, then $0.02 per text or $0.04-$0.11 per WhatsApp message. Marketing texts cost $0.08 each; 50 marketing emails free monthly, then $0.02 each.
Deposits and no-shows
Deposits, card-on-file and no-show/cancellation protection are listed as included on both paid plans; they depend on using Fresha payments.
Marketplace commission
One-time 20% commission on a brand-new client who finds you through the Fresha marketplace and books online, with a $6 minimum per client. Fresha says a maximum cap exists for high-value services but the US cap amount was not found. Returning clients carry no fee.
The catches
- The old free-software model is gone: Independent is $19.95/month and Team is $14.95 per team member per month.
- Marketplace new-client fee is 20% with a $6 minimum, even on cheap or free services.
- Text reminders beyond 100/month are pay-per-message.
- Several add-ons cost extra: AI Concierge $99.95/location, Client Loyalty $59.95/location, Data Connector $295/location, Smart Website $15.95, Google Rating Boost $14.95/location, Insights $9.95/bookable member, Team Connect $2.95/member (all per month).
- No annual billing discount is offered.
What I couldn't confirm
US cap on marketplace new-client fee not verified.
Direct fetch of the pricing page showed geo-localized non-USD prices; USD figures came from the r.jina.ai reader proxy of the same official page. The marketplace fee help article would not render its body; its search snippet confirms a maximum cap exists but the US amount was not verified. Details of how deposits/no-show protection work were not described on the pricing page.
