Card processing
Payments run through HoneyBook's built-in processing. Visa/Mastercard typed in by the client: 2.9% + 25¢. Amex/Discover and card-on-file charges: 3.4% + 9¢. ACH bank transfer: 1.5%. Tap to Pay in person: 2.7% + 10¢. Instant deposit: extra 1% ($5 minimum, eligible card payments up to $5,000). HoneyBook says it adds no international or card-brand surcharges. Premium accounts processing over $500k/yr may get lower card rates.
Text reminders
SMS session reminders are on Essentials and Premium only; Starter reminders are email only. No per-message price published.
Deposits and no-shows
Retainers/deposits, partial payments, payment schedules and autopay on recurring invoices are supported on all plans. No specific no-show fee feature confirmed on official pages.
Marketplace commission

The catches
- Pricing page only shows yearly billing; monthly-billed prices are not published
- Displayed Essentials and Premium prices are a 25% promotional discount off $59 and $129
- Card-on-file and Amex/Discover payments cost more (3.4% + 9¢) than standard Visa/Mastercard
- Pricing page headline says card fees 'start at 2.7% + 10¢', but that is the in-person Tap to Pay rate; online typed-in cards are 2.9% + 25¢
- No way to bring your own Stripe/PayPal account: payments must go through HoneyBook
- Starter plan has no full scheduler and no SMS reminders
What I couldn't confirm

Monthly-billing prices are not shown on the pricing page (yearly billing only), so monthly_price_usd is null. Strikethrough $59/$129 are described as the pre-discount yearly rates; whether the 25% promo is time-limited is not stated. Extra team member pricing beyond plan limits is not published. Starter scheduler access was read inconsistently across fetches (one reading said 1 session type with email reminders, the comparison table said scheduler not included); treated as not included/limited. The FAQ page is outdated (mentions an 'Unlimited' plan and 7-day trial) and was not used for prices. Per-year totals are computed as 12 x the stated billed-yearly monthly price.
